How it works
Press Ctrl+Alt+H and the panel opens over whatever you're doing. Two letters find a game, Tab pins, renames or hides it, and Enter starts it. The ? button copies a guide your AI can read, so it can answer questions about Hanami.
Features
- Finds your games
- Steam, Heroic, Lutris and the app menu on Linux; Steam, Epic, GOG and Heroic on Windows; Minecraft instances in Prism Launcher on both. Each with its own icon.
- Ports and rewrites
- Spots ports, recomps and rewrites like Ship of Harkinian, Zelda 64: Recompiled and OpenMW, and Rust games you built yourself. It asks before adding them.
- Nothing hidden
- Open source, with no ads, accounts or tracking. It only goes online to GitHub, to check for a new version. Every download is built by GitHub straight from the public code, with a signed record you can check.
- Your own look
- Change the colours and what falls behind the list: petals, maple leaves, snow or any picture. Ask your AI to make it autumn and it can write the whole look.
- AI help prompt
- The ? button copies a prompt containing the full documentation, for AI assistants that can read your computer to answer questions about Hanami.
- Always there
- Waits quietly in the tray, can start with your computer, and opens the panel straight over the game or desktop you're on.
- Keyboard or controller
- Ctrl+Alt+H opens the panel and typing finds a game, even with a typo. On a controller, hold Start and Select.
- Your list, your way
- Pin favourites to the top, rename or hide any game, add one with +. The games you play most come first.
- Light
- About 35 MB of memory and no CPU use while hidden.
Any AI
Six AI coding agents, each on a different model, change one thing each about the same Hanami: Crush, OpenCode, Antigravity CLI, jcode, Codex and Claude Code. Then the panel opens with all of it, and Minecraft starts. The agents and models ran for real; their work is sped up.
Start
- Linux: download the AppImage, mark it executable and run it, or run
hanamifrom the tar.gz. Windows: run the installer, which needs no admin rights, or unzip the portable zip and runhanami.exe. - Hanami's icon appears in the system tray. It tells you there when a new version is out.
- Press Ctrl+Alt+H or click the icon to open the panel. Settings are described in the guide.
